Morgan Stanley Updates Vintage Values List for 2027, Adding Alphabet and Coca-Cola Among Others

Morgan Stanley has released its Vintage Values 2027 list, which features 15 stocks recommended for a one-year buy-and-hold strategy. This follows the success of the 2026 portfolio, which outperformed the S&P 500 by 1,316 basis points, achieving a return of 32.12% compared to the index's nearly 19%.

The selection process involved input from North America analysts and emphasized company fundamentals, macro exposure, and risk-reward assessments. Notably, 12 of the 15 stocks on the new list are new additions, with only Amazon, McKesson, and Visa retained from the previous year.

The 2027 list includes high-profile names such as Alphabet, Apple, and Coca-Cola, and is characterized by a tilt towards quality, large-cap, and growth stocks, with 60% of the selections falling into the top two quality tiers. However, these stocks are generally more expensive than the broader market.

Michelle Weaver, the bank's equity strategist, highlighted that the list has an 'anti-momentum' approach, focusing on stocks identified for their strong underlying drivers rather than recent performance
