Meta’s AI Agent Muse Revolutionizes Shopping Experience with New Features and Partnerships

Meta has launched Muse, an AI shopping assistant that simplifies the online shopping experience by allowing users to request specific items, which Muse then finds across various retail sites. This feature has quickly become a major driver of Muse's usage. Users can interact with Muse to specify brands, prices, and availability, and the assistant will present options within the app or website.

Muse also facilitates checkout through partnerships with payment providers like Link by Stripe and Shopify Shop Pay, with plans to include PayPal in the future. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg indicated that the company will charge a small fee on transactions made through Muse.

The rollout includes partnerships with major retailers such as Walmart, Gap, and Sephora, although Amazon has blocked Muse from accessing its platform due to alleged violations of its terms of service.

Experts suggest that the competition for control over the shopping experience will intensify among retailers, as the entity that owns the AI agent will have a significant relationship with consumers. However, concerns about data privacy and dynamic pricing practices remain prevalent among consumers, with a significant percentage expressing distrust in AI-driven pricing strategies.

Despite these concerns, Muse has gained popularity, reaching the top of the Apple App Store for free apps, indicating a strong consumer interest in AI-assisted shopping solutions
