In its latest earnings report, Shopify announced adjusted earnings of 49 cents per share, surpassing LSEG estimates of 46 cents. However, the company's total revenue of $3.74 billion fell short of expectations, which were set at $3.75 billion. Shopify's gross merchandise volume for the quarter was reported at $119.15 billion, missing analyst predictions of $120.03 billion.

Additionally, subscription gross profit was $661 million, which was nearly $20 million below the anticipated $680.3 million. Although merchant gross profit exceeded estimates, subscription revenue of $836 million also did not meet the expected $848.1 million.

Looking ahead, Shopify projects revenue growth in the low thirties percentage range year over year for the fourth quarter, slightly below the LSEG estimate of 32.1%. This mixed performance raises concerns about the company's growth trajectory and may impact investor sentiment moving forward
