Billionaire Investor Stanley Druckenmiller Increases Stakes in Amazon (AMZN) and Semiconductor Stocks Amid AI Enthusiasm

In the second quarter, billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller's Duquesne Family Office made substantial investments in stocks associated with artificial intelligence, notably increasing its stake in Amazon to approximately $129 million and establishing a new $120 million position in Alphabet.

Additionally, Druckenmiller expanded his investments in semiconductor companies, raising his stake in Taiwan Semiconductor by 19% to $282 million and in STMicroelectronics by nearly 19% to $232 million, making them his second- and third-largest holdings. These moves came amid a strong rally in technology and semiconductor shares driven by optimism around AI spending.

However, the market saw a reversal in July as concerns about high valuations and the sustainability of the AI boom emerged. The regulatory filing reflects holdings as of June 30, leaving uncertainty about whether Druckenmiller maintained these positions through the subsequent market downturn.

His largest investment remains in clinical genetic testing company Natera, valued at over $800 million at the end of June. Druckenmiller is a prominent figure in macroeconomic investing, known for his historical success, including a significant bet against the British pound in 1992
