Procter & Gamble (PG) Reports Weaker-Than-Expected Revenue and Volume Stagnation in Quarterly Results

Procter & Gamble reported its fiscal fourth-quarter results, revealing a net income of $3.04 billion, or $1.26 per share, down from $3.62 billion, or $1.48 per share, a year earlier. The company's adjusted earnings per share of $1.43 slightly exceeded the $1.41 expected by analysts, but revenue of $21.2 billion missed the anticipated $21.38 billion.

Notably, organic revenue remained unchanged due to flat volume across its product portfolio, with only the beauty and fabric/home care divisions showing slight volume growth. The company has struggled with declining demand as consumers opt for cheaper alternatives, impacting its baby, feminine, family care, and grooming segments negatively.

Looking forward, P&G projects core earnings per share for fiscal 2027 to be between $6.89 and $7.11, with overall sales growth expected to be between 1% and 3%, which is below Wall Street's expectations of 2.7% growth. Additionally, CEO Shailesh Jejurikar will take on the role of chair of the board starting August 1, replacing Jon Moeller
