PepsiCo announced on Thursday that it has extended its long-standing partnership with Taco Bell until 2036. This renewal comes shortly after Taco Bell's sister chain, KFC, decided to switch its beverage supplier to Coca-Cola, a move that is relatively rare among large restaurant chains. The competition between Coca-Cola and PepsiCo often involves enticing contracts with various perks.
While KFC's shift to Coca-Cola is a notable win for Coke, it does not diminish Pepsi's significance to Yum Brands, which owns both Taco Bell and KFC. Pepsi has been a key partner for Taco Bell, providing exclusive menu items that feature its products, such as Mountain Dew Baja Blast and Doritos Locos Tacos.
The renewed agreement also extends Pepsi's presence to Taco Bell's international markets, including Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Thailand, ensuring that Pepsi products will continue to be served in these regions
