The inquiry comes amid a backdrop of declining corporate tax payments, with Warren noting a 25% drop this year, despite rising revenues for these tech giants. For instance, Meta's federal income tax payment fell from $9.6 billion in 2024 to $2.8 billion in 2025, while maintaining similar profit levels.
