Meta has launched its latest AI model, Muse Wonder, which is designed to enhance the functionality of digital assistants. Users of the Muse personal agent app will need to subscribe for $20 or $100 monthly to access this advanced model, highlighting Meta's strategy to diversify its revenue streams beyond online advertising.
Alexandr Wang, Meta's AI chief, emphasized that Muse Wonder aims to improve the handling of real-world tasks by allowing the AI to navigate obstacles without constantly needing user input. The model also includes enhanced safeguards against cyber misuse, although these protections are currently only available to paying subscribers.
Following its launch, the Muse app quickly rose to the top of Apple's App Store, indicating strong initial interest. However, some users have raised concerns about unauthorized access to personal messages, which Meta has disputed. The company is working to educate users on the app's functionalities to build trust.
Additionally, Muse Wonder will be accessible to developers through the Meta Model API at a higher cost, with a more powerful version, Muse Wonder Full, available under a premium subscription plan. This strategic move could position Meta favorably against competitors like OpenAI and Anthropic, as it seeks to establish a foothold in the lucrative AI market
