Analysts Jim Cramer highlights growth potential in memory stocks amid AI boom

On Monday, CNBC's Jim Cramer highlighted the remarkable performance of memory stocks, which have surged significantly this year, with Sandisk up 653%, Seagate up 261%, Micron up 254%, and Western Digital up 211%. Cramer noted that while such gains typically raise concerns about overproduction leading to price drops, the current situation is different.

He pointed out that memory supply is constrained, with industry leaders like Elon Musk emphasizing its critical role in data center growth. Furthermore, memory manufacturers are adopting a more disciplined approach by securing long-term customer agreements and prioritizing shareholder returns through share repurchases, rather than expanding production aggressively.

Cramer specifically mentioned that his Charitable Trust has initiated a position in Micron, which he believes has the potential to double again, provided there is no slowdown in data center demand. He cautioned that while a future overbuild could occur, he does not foresee it happening soon, making memory stocks an attractive investment opportunity at this time
