Market Movers: Dow Jones Ends Winning Streak as Jobs Report Looms

The Dow Jones Industrial Average has ended a five-day winning streak, and attention is now focused on the upcoming jobs report for July, which is expected to show an increase of 83,000 jobs. This report is generating significant interest on prediction markets, with 34% of participants betting that the number will exceed 80,000.

Jim Cramer from CNBC's 'Mad Money' emphasized the resilience of the American consumer, citing positive insights from Wells Fargo and Bank of America, as well as strong travel demand reflected in the performance of companies like Expedia and Booking Holdings. He recommended Capital One as a potential investment, noting its 9% decline this year.

Other stocks he mentioned include Ralph Lauren, which is up 12% year-to-date but down from its June high, and Williams-Sonoma, which has seen a 38% increase in 2026. Additionally, Under Armour is set to release its quarterly report, with shares down 20% from their February peak. Fluor, another company reporting soon, has seen a 10% decline over the past three months.

Meanwhile, Take-Two Interactive, known for its Grand Theft Auto series, has experienced a 4.7% increase in the last three months, although its shares have dropped 11% since reaching a high last month. Overall, these developments indicate a cautious yet optimistic outlook for the market as investors await key economic indicators
