The CNBC All-America Economic Survey, conducted from October 14-18, shows that 36% of registered voters now prioritize government corruption over other pressing issues, such as high grocery prices (34%) and protecting democracy (23%). This shift follows a sustained Democratic campaign linking economic dissatisfaction to alleged corruption by President Trump and his Republican allies.
Notably, a Fox News poll indicates that 60% of voters are extremely concerned about corruption, surpassing inflation concerns. The survey results suggest that Democrats may benefit from this growing anti-corruption sentiment, as they hold a 4-point lead over Republicans regarding who can better address the issue. Among voters prioritizing corruption, this lead expands to 17 points.
Additionally, a significant majority of respondents oppose elected officials trading stocks in companies with federal contracts, reflecting a strong desire for ethical governance. This rising concern about corruption could reshape the political landscape, particularly as voters connect their economic struggles to perceived corruption in Washington
