Companies Report Financial Gains from AI Investments in Recent Earnings

As corporate interest in artificial intelligence transitions from speculation to real financial outcomes, the latest earnings reports reveal substantial gains attributed to AI initiatives. According to the Stanford HAI 2026 AI Index report, corporate AI investment is projected to reach $581.7 billion by 2025, a 130% increase from the previous year.

Major tech firms, including Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and Meta, are expected to collectively invest $700 billion in AI infrastructure this year, prompting investors to seek measurable returns.

Notably, Santander reported that its AI initiatives generated €194 million ($216 million) in business value in the first nine months of 2026, with CFO José García Cantera emphasizing the technology's role in enhancing service quality and operational efficiency.

Similarly, Novartis indicated that AI is beginning to positively impact its bottom line, with CEO Vas Narasimhan noting improvements in research and development productivity. Standard Chartered also reported a 14% increase in operating income, attributing part of this growth to AI's influence on customer relationships and operational efficiency.

In contrast, Carlsberg's CEO Jacob Aarup-Andersen stated that while AI has affected internal processes, the benefits have not yet reached scale, despite a 4.9% revenue growth in the third quarter.

Additionally, Meta highlighted that its AI investments contributed to a significant increase in advertising revenue, while Alphabet's Google Cloud revenue more than doubled, showcasing the broader impact of AI across various sectors
