Oura has unveiled its latest product, the Oura Ring 5, which is 40% smaller than its predecessor while maintaining the same level of sensing and tracking accuracy. CEO Tom Hale emphasized that this redesign aims to make the ring more comfortable for daily wear, thereby increasing accessibility to its health insights.
The ring will retail for $399 for standard finishes and $499 for premium options, with shipments starting on June 4. Additionally, Oura is introducing a portable charging case priced at $99.
The company is also enhancing its health tracking capabilities with new features like Health Radar, which monitors vital signs and alerts users to significant deviations, and blood pressure tracking during sleep to identify cardiovascular risks. Oura's partnership with Counsel Health will allow users to access AI-enabled healthcare advice through the app in 43 states.
This evolution from a sleep tracker to a comprehensive health and wellness device has contributed to Oura's rapid growth, with over 5.5 million rings sold and a projected sales target of nearly $2 billion by 2026. The company recently reported a fourfold increase in paid members and total revenue over the past two years, following a $900 million funding round that valued it at $11 billion.
Oura's ongoing innovations and expanding user base position it favorably as it prepares for a potential IPO
