U.S.-listed Greenland Stocks Surge Following Trump’s Announcement of Security Deal with Denmark

On Monday, shares of U.S.-listed companies with ties to Greenland experienced substantial gains following the announcement of a security deal between the U.S. and Denmark. Greenland Energy's stock skyrocketed by over 141% in premarket trading, while Greenland Mines and Critical Metals Corp saw increases of nearly 70% and more than 30%, respectively.

This agreement, expected to be formalized during the United Nations General Assembly, aims to bolster military presence in Greenland and prevent adversaries from establishing bases there. The deal comes in the wake of President Trump's previous assertions regarding Greenland's significance to U.S. national security.

Trump emphasized that the U.S. would have the capability to secure Greenland without incurring costs, and he indicated plans for a substantial military presence. Although specific details of the agreement remain undisclosed, Greenlandic and Danish officials have assured the public that it will respect the island's self-determination and sovereignty.

Greenland's Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen expressed optimism about the agreement, highlighting its benefits for Greenland, Denmark, the U.S., and the broader Western Alliance
