Jenny Lee, a senior managing partner at Granite Asia, highlighted that the average time before a company goes public has decreased from eight to ten years to just four to five years for later-stage companies in Asia. This trend indicates a growing confidence in the profitability and productivity of these firms, as they are now preparing for IPOs much earlier.
Lee's firm has made over 40 equity investments in the past two years, focusing on sectors such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and energy-related technologies, particularly those that address the energy import challenges faced by many Asian countries.
This shift towards quicker IPOs may attract more investment into the region and reshape the competitive landscape as Asian companies capitalize on emerging technologies and market needs
