Whirlpool (WHR) lowers full-year revenue guidance, shares drop nearly 9%; JetBlue Airways (JBLU) expects margin expansion despite losses, shares rise 7%

Whirlpool's adjustment of its full-year revenue guidance from $15 billion to $14.5 billion has raised concerns among investors, particularly as its third-quarter revenue of $3.68 billion fell short of the $3.92 billion consensus estimate from LSEG.

Additionally, the company reported an adjusted loss of 21 cents per share, contrasting sharply with analysts' expectations of an 80 cents profit per share. This significant miss on both revenue and earnings is likely to impact investor confidence and could lead to further stock volatility.

On the other hand, JetBlue Airways experienced a 7% surge in its stock price after announcing expectations for margin expansion in the fourth quarter, despite facing fuel prices that are projected to be 85% higher than the previous year.

Although JetBlue reported an adjusted loss of 60 cents per share, which was worse than the anticipated 55-cent loss, the positive outlook on margins may provide a buffer against rising costs and could attract investor interest
