Temasek Holdings reported a net portfolio value increase to 518 billion Singapore dollars ($401 billion) for the fiscal year ending March 31, marking its second consecutive annual record.
The firm achieved a total shareholder return of 10.5%, attributed to robust performance from its Singapore investments and successful divestments, including a significant S$8.18 billion stake sale in Schneider Electric India. The Straits Times Index's rise of over 23% during the year was bolstered by the Equity Market Development Programme aimed at enhancing stock value.
However, the ongoing Iran war and a stronger Singapore dollar negatively impacted returns, reducing the total shareholder return by approximately 2 percentage points. Temasek's exposure to China has decreased from 29% in 2020 to 17% in 2026, although its absolute investment in China increased by SG$10 billion over the past year.
Looking ahead, Temasek plans to expand its investments in artificial intelligence, private credit, and core-plus infrastructure, aiming to increase AI-related exposure to 15% by 2031 and private credit to 5%. The firm views the rapid advancement of AI as a significant opportunity for future growth
