The Open House Creative Fest, taking place on June 27 and 28, aims to attract hundreds of visitors to the former Joann store at the Del Amo Fashion Center. The event features around 25 vendors offering unique art, clothing, and decor, alongside hands-on workshops where attendees can learn directly from the creators.

Admission is free for browsing, while an activity passport, starting at $40, allows participants to engage in various crafting activities. Lauren Tetef, the event organizer, has a background in event production and has invested her savings, approximately $24,000, into this venture after being laid off from her corporate job due to tariff impacts.

The event is expected to draw significant foot traffic, potentially benefiting the local economy and reviving interest in the arts and crafts sector. Tetef's personal connection to the Joann store adds emotional significance to the event, as she aims to recreate the creative inspiration that the space once provided to the community
