Nexus Data Centers in Advanced Talks to Secure $15 Billion for Google-Backed Anthropic Data Center Project

Morgan Stanley is leading discussions to provide $15 billion in financing to Nexus Data Centers for a significant artificial intelligence infrastructure project aimed at supporting Anthropic. The funding will facilitate the development of a data center campus in Hubbard, Texas.

Notably, Google is backing Anthropic with its investment-grade credit rating, which adds financial security to the project. Anthropic has been actively seeking partnerships to expand its computing capacity, having recently secured agreements with companies such as Advanced Micro Devices, SpaceX, Google, and Broadcom.

This trend underscores the increasing investment in AI infrastructure as companies strive to enhance their technological capabilities. Google has previously invested heavily in Anthropic, including a $300 million investment for a 10% stake and a subsequent $2 billion investment.

Both Anthropic and Nexus Data Centers have chosen not to comment on the ongoing negotiations, and Morgan Stanley has also refrained from providing details
