Meta to Report Quarterly Financials Amid Rising AI Spending and Advertising Revenue Concerns

Meta is set to be the first of the major tech companies to disclose its quarterly financial results in this earnings season, with Alphabet, Microsoft, and Amazon following closely behind.

Collectively, these four companies are expected to spend approximately $730 billion on capital expenditures this year, primarily to enhance their capabilities in graphics processing units and artificial intelligence systems, as well as to expand their global data center infrastructure.

Analysts from FactSet predict that this expenditure will escalate to around $1 trillion in the next year, with Alphabet leading the charge at over $310 billion. This surge in spending occurs amidst rising interest rates and growing skepticism about whether the anticipated revenue from AI will be sufficient to cover these substantial costs.

The earnings reports from Alphabet and Microsoft are scheduled for next Wednesday, with Amazon's report following on Thursday, making this a critical period for investors to assess the financial health and strategic direction of these tech giants
