Analysts JPMorgan upgraded Etsy (ETSY) to Overweight and raised target price to $100, expecting upside +22%

Etsy is experiencing a positive shift in its marketplace performance, with gross merchandise sales (GMS) increasing year-over-year for three consecutive quarters. JPMorgan analyst Bryan Smilek noted that Etsy's adjusted EBITDA for the second quarter reached $195.3 million, surpassing expectations, while revenue also exceeded forecasts at $668.3 million.

The company has revised its GMS growth forecast upward, anticipating mid-single-digit percentage growth for the full year. This improvement is attributed to Etsy's initiatives in enhancing search functionality, app engagement, and customer loyalty, which are expected to bolster active buyer and seller dynamics.

Despite JPMorgan's optimistic outlook, the broader analyst consensus remains cautious, with only 11 out of 31 analysts recommending a buy. Etsy's shares have surged 48% year-to-date, reflecting growing investor confidence in its recovery strategy
