JetBlue Airways is revamping its fare structure as it prepares to launch its domestic first-class seats, named BlueFirst. The airline will now offer a range of options starting from a basic fare that includes a carry-on but no seat selection, to more premium choices with added benefits.
The new categories include 'Main' for economy, 'Even More' for extra legroom, and the upcoming BlueFirst for first-class. The basic fare will allow for refunds only as travel credits, while the standard fare includes seat selection and no change fees, and the flex fare offers refunds to the original payment method.
This overhaul replaces the previous 'Core' fare system and aligns JetBlue with industry trends, as competitors like United Airlines and Delta Air Lines have also introduced tiered pricing for premium economy and business class seats. The changes come amid a surge in demand for more comfortable travel options, and JetBlue is expected to report its financial results soon
