Investors See Potential in Meta’s AI Spending with New Product Muse

Meta has seen a rebound since its August lows, but analysts believe there is further upside potential, particularly with the introduction of its AI product, Muse. This personal AI agent has already achieved over 5 million downloads in just 22 days, surpassing the initial download rates of competitors like ChatGPT.

Muse's integration into Meta's existing ecosystem of approximately 4 billion users provides a substantial audience for monetization. Additionally, Meta is expanding into enterprise AI, appointing CJ Desai, former CEO of MongoDB, to lead this initiative. The company plans to invest heavily in AI, with capital expenditures projected to reach between $240 billion and $260 billion in the coming years.

While the stock is currently trading around $744, approximately 5% below its 52-week high, it is viewed as not overly expensive at around 20 times earnings. However, the primary risk remains whether Meta can generate sufficient revenue from its AI investments to justify the high spending.

Stephanie Link, Chief Investment Strategist at Hightower Advisors, emphasizes the potential for Meta's AI initiatives to create new revenue streams that could enhance the company's overall valuation
