Jon Rahm, a former world number one and a prominent figure in LIV Golf, has decided to leave the league, as confirmed by his attorney John Beck during a bankruptcy hearing. Rahm's choice comes after he reviewed the proposed terms of LIV Golf's next phase, referred to as LIV 2.0, and found them unacceptable.

This decision is particularly impactful as LIV Golf is currently in Chapter 11 bankruptcy, seeking to restructure and secure its future. Other golfers are also seeking to terminate their contracts, with some, like Sergio Garcia, already having their agreements ended due to the league's inability to honor them.

The situation is compounded by the fact that LIV Golf owes significant amounts to its players, with Rahm holding the largest claim at $7.5 million. Despite these challenges, LIV Golf has secured up to $300 million in funding from BC Partners to support its restructuring efforts, which could allow players to become equity owners in the league and its teams.

However, Rahm's exit raises questions about the league's appeal and its ability to maintain a competitive roster moving forward
