Starbucks Confirms No Plans to Acquire Chipotle, Focuses on Turnaround Strategy Under CEO Brian Niccol

On Monday, the CNBC Investing Club with Jim Cramer highlighted a mixed performance in the stock market, with a notable rotation from semiconductor stocks to software companies. Micron Technologies saw a 3% decline due to rising competition from China's CXMT, while Salesforce gained approximately 1.5% following a double upgrade from Bank of America.

Cramer remains optimistic about the long-term potential of AI investments but advised against further investments in semiconductor stocks until they show signs of recovery. He also mentioned that profit-taking ahead of mutual funds' fiscal year-end in October could be contributing to the current weakness in the sector.

In a separate update, Cramer confirmed that Starbucks is not pursuing a deal with Chipotle, which alleviates investor concerns about the coffee chain's growth prospects. He referenced positive consumer sentiment data from HundredX, indicating that Starbucks' turnaround efforts are gaining traction.

Cramer cautioned against dismissing Starbucks and other consumer stocks due to fears of rising interest rates, labeling such a move as a mistake. Looking ahead, earnings reports from Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, and Johnson & Johnson are anticipated, with Cramer expressing bullish sentiments on the banks, particularly Goldman Sachs, which he recommends buying at current levels.

He also noted that Wells Fargo's performance will be closely monitored for signs of improving profitability, while Johnson & Johnson's stock has historically reacted negatively post-earnings, despite its strong performance this year
