On Friday, CXMT announced it expects a net profit of between 131 billion yuan ($19.58 billion) and 132.5 billion yuan for January to September 2026, a notable recovery from a net loss of 5.28 billion yuan in the same period last year.

The company anticipates revenue growth to approximately 265 billion yuan to 270 billion yuan, a substantial increase from 232.9 billion yuan to 237.9 billion yuan year-over-year. This optimistic outlook is attributed to a surge in demand for AI computing power, which has driven up prices and created supply shortages in the global DRAM market since the latter half of 2025.

Despite these promising developments, CXMT's shares fell, reflecting a potential disconnect between the company's strong performance indicators and investor sentiment.

The company has been increasing its market share, capturing 10% of global DRAM revenue in Q3 2026, up from 5% a year prior, positioning itself as a competitor to major players like Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron Technology
