Apollo Global Management to Acquire Nearly 10% Stake in Mubadala Capital, Abu Dhabi’s Alternative Asset Manager

Apollo Global Management is finalizing a significant deal to purchase nearly a 10% stake in Mubadala Capital, the asset management arm of Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund, Mubadala Investment Company. This transaction, expected to be announced soon, underscores Apollo's long-term strategy in Abu Dhabi, where it has cultivated relationships over the past 15 years.

The firm has an existing multibillion-dollar partnership with Mubadala, which was first established in 2022 and extended in 2024, aimed at enhancing their Capital Solutions platform for global financing.

The deal is also pivotal for Mubadala Capital, which manages over $755 billion in assets and is led by CEO Hani Barhoush, as it aligns with their growth strategy and strengthens their position in the global investment landscape.

The partnership reflects a shift in the dynamics between American investment firms and the Middle East, with Apollo's investment marking a direct commitment to the region's investment vision. This move is consistent with Apollo's previous investments in other asset management platforms, indicating a broader trend of consolidation and collaboration in the asset management sector
