Anthropic Delays IPO Launch to Mid-October Ahead of U.S. Midterm Elections

Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company, is adjusting its IPO timeline, now aiming to market the offering in mid-October, just ahead of the U.S. midterm elections. Initially, the company was expected to release its IPO prospectus as early as next week, but this has been pushed back to late September.

This delay could impact investor sentiment, as the IPO is anticipated to be one of the largest ever, with a valuation of approximately $2 trillion. The company is also finalizing a $15 billion revolving credit facility, which is a critical step in the IPO process. Major banks like Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Citi are involved in the offering.

The IPO's timing is crucial as it coincides with a growing interest in AI investments, especially following SpaceX's recent public offering at a $1.77 trillion valuation. Anthropic's IPO could serve as a barometer for the market's appetite for AI stocks, particularly as other AI companies, such as OpenAI, may also consider going public soon
