American Airlines has committed to matching the federal $1,000 contribution to Trump Accounts with an additional $1,000 for the children of its employees. This initiative is part of a growing trend, with over 50 companies, including major firms like Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, also offering similar contributions.
The Trump Accounts, available for U.S. children under 18, allow parents or guardians to receive a $1,000 initial deposit from the Treasury for children born between 2025 and 2028. American Airlines plans to implement a paycheck deduction option for pretax contributions to these accounts starting in 2027, which will benefit about one-third of its nearly 140,000 employees.
CEO Robert Isom emphasized the company's commitment to supporting its employees' financial futures, while Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent praised the involvement of leading companies in this initiative. Financial experts recommend enrolling in these accounts to take advantage of the free contributions from both the government and employers
