Armada Raises $230 Million to Build Modular Data Center Factory in Arizona with Johnson Controls Investment

Armada's recent $230 million funding round, which was oversubscribed and co-led by Overmatch, 8090 Industries, and BlackRock, marks a significant milestone for the company, elevating its valuation to $2 billion.

The investment coincides with a strategic manufacturing partnership with Johnson Controls, which will produce modular data centers at a new 400,000-square-foot facility in Arizona, expected to create over 500 jobs.

These modular data centers are designed to be rapidly deployable and can integrate with existing energy sources, making them particularly appealing for industries operating in challenging environments. CEO Dan Wright emphasized the importance of speed and scalability in the AI infrastructure race, framing it as a critical competition between the U.S. and China.

The company has already seen a remarkable 540% growth in customer bookings from fiscal 2025 to fiscal 2026, with a staggering 2,000% year-over-year increase in Q1 FY27. This growth trajectory, coupled with strategic partnerships and a focus on sectors like military and energy, positions Armada favorably in the evolving landscape of data processing and AI technology
