Walmart Heir Lukas Walton Acquires Minority Stake in Chicago Bulls and United Center

Lukas Walton and his wife, Samantha, have purchased a minority stake in the Chicago Bulls and the United Center, although the exact size of the stake and its valuation remain undisclosed. This acquisition does not grant Walton control over the team, as the Reinsdorf family retains ownership.

The Bulls, valued at approximately $6.45 billion, are the fifth-most valuable franchise in the NBA, despite recent struggles, having not made the playoffs since the 2021-2022 season. The Waltons expressed their commitment to Chicago's future and admiration for the ongoing $7 billion redevelopment project known as the 1901 Project, which aims to enhance the West Side of Chicago.

Lukas Walton, with a net worth of around $45 billion, joins other family members in sports ownership, including his uncle Rob Walton, who purchased the Denver Broncos in 2022
