The Ukrainian military's Operation Vivaldi has reportedly reversed over a year of Russian territorial gains in the Donbas region, liberating 176 square kilometers and inflicting significant losses on Russian forces, including over 2,000 casualties and 250 prisoners.

This operation, which began in May, highlights the strategic advantage gained through the deployment of drones and remote-controlled robots, allowing Ukrainian forces to attack from behind enemy lines while minimizing risks to personnel.

Analysts, including Serhii Kuzan from the Ukrainian Security and Cooperation Center, emphasize that this shift towards robotic systems is altering the dynamics of modern warfare, enabling operations that previously required large numbers of soldiers.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised the operation's success and indicated a future focus on increasing the use of robotic systems in combat. Despite the achievements of Operation Vivaldi, experts caution that it should not be viewed as a decisive breakthrough, but rather as a demonstration of Ukraine's capability to challenge Russian forces effectively.

The ongoing conflict remains intense, with Russia ramping up attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, indicating that the war's dynamics continue to evolve
