During the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings, Senators John Cornyn and Thom Tillis indicated they are undecided about voting to confirm Todd Blanche as U.S. attorney general.

Cornyn raised concerns about a controversial $1.8 billion Department of Justice fund, which critics have labeled a 'slush fund,' while Tillis emphasized the need for Blanche to meet with victims of Jeffrey Epstein before making a decision. If either senator votes against Blanche, along with expected Democratic opposition, the nomination could be stalled in committee, preventing a full Senate vote.

Blanche, who has been serving as acting attorney general since April, previously faced criticism for his handling of sensitive information related to Epstein victims. The outcome of this nomination is significant as it reflects the ongoing tensions within the Republican party and could influence the administration's law enforcement priorities
