Starting this week, eligible Trump Account holders will receive a $250 grant from the Dell Foundation, with funds expected to be deposited as early as August 31. This initiative is part of a broader effort to encourage savings among children, particularly those from lower-income families.
The Trump Accounts, also known as 530A accounts, are available to any U.S. child under 18 with a Social Security number, and children born between 2025 and 2028 are eligible for a one-time $1,000 deposit from the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
Michael Dell, CEO of Dell Technologies, highlighted the importance of these accounts in fostering a sense of ownership and financial responsibility among children, which can lead to improved outcomes in education and entrepreneurship.
The Dell family's commitment of $6.25 billion aims to support children born between 2016 and 2024 who do not qualify for the federal funds, potentially benefiting around 25 million American children. Currently, about 7 million children have signed up for Trump Accounts, indicating a growing interest in this financial initiative
