Tanger CEO Stephen Yalof noted that the company experienced increased traffic in June and July, attributed to both international and domestic tourism linked to the World Cup. With shopping centers located in eight of the eleven host cities, Tanger capitalized on the influx of visitors, aiming to convert them into long-term brand ambassadors.
The company reported a 5% increase in sales for the year, driven by heightened interest in American experiences and shopping at their outlet centers, which feature popular brands like Polo, Michael Kors, and Nike.
Yalof emphasized that the combination of retail, dining, and entertainment options within Tanger centers enhances customer experiences, encouraging visitors to stay longer and return in the future. Additionally, the company benefited from strong second-quarter results, bolstered by effective marketing strategies and a thriving movie business that attracted more customers to their locations
