Stan Kroenke has agreed to purchase a controlling stake in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim from the Moreno family, with the deal expected to close in the first quarter of 2027.
While the financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, this acquisition adds a Major League Baseball team to Kroenke Sports and Entertainment's already extensive portfolio, which includes teams across all major professional sports.
Kroenke, whose sports empire was valued at over $26 billion in June, expressed enthusiasm for the future of the Angels, highlighting the franchise's storied history and strong market presence. Arte Moreno, the outgoing owner, stated that the Moreno family believes Kroenke's experience makes him the ideal successor for the franchise.
This move not only enhances Kroenke's dominance in the sports sector but also strengthens his foothold in one of the most lucrative sports and entertainment markets in the world, further solidifying his status as a leading figure in the industry
