Blanche, currently the acting attorney general, has submitted documents indicating the fund's termination and clarified the terms of a settlement related to former President Trump's lawsuit against the IRS. The settlement provides limited immunity from tax audits for Trump and his family but applies only retroactively, meaning it does not offer indefinite protection.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to vote on Blanche's nomination, which had been delayed due to these concerns, indicating that the resolution of this issue may facilitate his confirmation process
