Notably, Hezbollah was not involved in the agreement, raising questions about its willingness to comply with the ceasefire. The cessation of hostilities is viewed as essential for a comprehensive peace deal involving the U.S. and Iran, particularly as the U.S. and Israel have been engaged in conflict with Iran since late February.
The U.S. has also established a memorandum of understanding with Iran to pause hostilities for at least 60 days while peace talks are underway.
