Nvidia to Invest $3 Billion in Meta to Strengthen AI Partnership

Nvidia has announced a $3 billion investment in Meta, coinciding with Meta's plans to raise $95 billion to bolster its artificial intelligence infrastructure. Initially, Meta will raise $35 billion through underwritten public equity offerings, followed by an additional $60 billion via an at-the-market program.

Nvidia, along with Advanced Micro Devices and Broadcom, is interested in acquiring up to $5 billion in shares. This investment will enable Meta to expand its deployment of Vera Rubin and Vera CPU, while also enhancing their partnership on Muse, Meta's recently launched AI agent.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang emphasized that AI agents signify a new computing paradigm, fundamentally changing how users interact with technology. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg expressed enthusiasm about continuing their collaboration with Nvidia to develop advanced personal agents and models for a global audience. Despite the announcement, both companies' shares remained flat in premarket trading.

Nvidia has been actively investing in AI-related companies, participating in 121 investment rounds this year, a significant increase from just 13 in 2022
