Meta (META) Expected to Report Strong Revenue Growth of 26% in Q2 Earnings Call

Meta is scheduled to release its second-quarter results, with analysts projecting earnings per share of $7.22 and revenue of $60.17 billion, reflecting a 26% increase from $47.52 billion a year ago. This growth is attributed to the strength of Meta's advertising business, which is benefiting from advancements in artificial intelligence.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg's comments on monetizing AI initiatives will be closely watched during the earnings call. Recently, Meta launched the Muse Spark 1.1 model, touted as a leading AI model for coding tasks, and introduced Muse Image, which offers features for users subscribing to new monthly plans.

The company is heavily investing in AI infrastructure, including a $14 billion data center project in El Paso, Texas, and a $9 billion facility in Alberta, Canada, as it competes with tech giants like Alphabet, Amazon, and Microsoft. Despite these investments, Meta's shares have declined 10% this year, raising concerns among analysts about the return on these expenditures.

Wedbush analysts noted that the disparity between capital expenditure intensity and diversified monetization remains a key issue for investors. For the second quarter, Meta is expected to report 3.61 billion daily active users and an average revenue per user of $16.65.

However, its Reality Labs unit is projected to incur a loss of $5.07 billion on revenue of $423.4 million, highlighting the challenges in its venture into virtual and augmented reality
