Muse Code is designed to facilitate software development by allowing users to manage AI-powered digital agents through a single interface, similar to offerings from competitors like Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's Codex. The tool is currently available in a beta version and works in conjunction with Meta's latest AI model, Muse Spark 1.2, which has been co-developed to enhance coding performance.
Pricing for Muse Code follows a pay-as-you-go model, with costs set at $1.25 per million tokens for input and $4.25 for output, alongside a lower-cost contributor tier aimed at encouraging user participation in model improvement.
Wang emphasized that while Muse Code may not offer cutting-edge features compared to its rivals, it aims to differentiate itself through competitive pricing and a tailored harness for coding projects. Additionally, Meta is introducing a zero-data retention option for developers, addressing privacy concerns and enhancing its appeal to enterprise users.
