Lululemon Appoints Former Athleta CEO Maggie Gauger as Chief Product Officer Amid Executive Restructuring

Lululemon announced that Maggie Gauger, previously the CEO of Athleta, will join the company as president and chief product officer, a newly created position, effective later this month. This move is part of a broader executive reshuffle as Lululemon seeks to strengthen its leadership team in a competitive athleisure market.

Alongside Gauger's appointment, Joseph Godsey has been named chief operating officer, while Nikki Neuburger and Ted Dagnese will leave their roles as chief brand and product activation officer and chief supply chain officer, respectively, to pursue other opportunities.

Lululemon's CEO, Heidi O'Neill, emphasized the importance of aligning product, design, and innovation at the core of the company's operations to enhance customer experience. Meanwhile, Gap, the parent company of Athleta, confirmed Gauger's departure and stated that Erika Everett will temporarily oversee Athleta's CEO role as the brand undergoes changes to position itself for long-term growth.

Lululemon is also in search of additional executive roles, including a chief brand officer and chief technology officer, following a period of disappointing sales and a proxy battle involving founder Chip Wilson
