Analysts Wells Fargo raised JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) target price to $390, expecting it to become the first $1 trillion bank

Wells Fargo has upgraded its price target for JPMorgan Chase to $390 from $375, suggesting a potential upside of over 7% from its recent closing price. Analyst Mike Mayo highlights JPMorgan's strong growth strategy and its ability to maintain a 'fortress balance sheet,' which has allowed the bank to excel in both offensive and defensive strategies over the past decade.

The bank has gained market share across all major business lines and reported record profits, largely due to increased trading and deal-making activities. Over the past three months, JPMorgan's shares have risen by 21%, bringing its market value to approximately $965 billion.

Looking ahead, Mayo believes that with continued investment in high-growth sectors, JPMorgan could achieve a market cap of $2 trillion, although this would require significant earnings per share growth.

The bank's strategy includes reinvesting returns into various areas such as branches, technology, and international business, which in turn drives market share gains in deposits, credit cards, and capital markets. This optimistic outlook aligns with the broader Wall Street consensus, where 15 out of 26 analysts rate JPMorgan as a buy or strong buy
