In June, Bezos Expeditions made five direct investments in startups, representing 10% of family office dealmaking, according to Fintrx data. This makes it the most active family office investor this year, with a total of eight direct investments.

Notably, the firm participated in five major funding rounds for AI startups, including a $12 billion Series B for Prometheus, which is now valued at approximately $41 billion. Prometheus aims to revolutionize product design and manufacturing through AI, with Bezos emphasizing the importance of invention for economic growth.

The family office also invested in four other startups—General Intuition, CuspAI, Generalist, and Flourish—each focusing on different AI applications, such as chemistry and robotics. Bezos has expressed confidence in the AI sector, suggesting that even if a bubble exists, the investments will ultimately yield positive results as successful ideas will outweigh the failures
