Analysts UBS recommend investing in emerging Asian market bonds and commodities amid elevated global yields

UBS has identified emerging Asian market bonds as a valuable investment option due to the current environment of elevated global bond yields. Adrian Zuercher, co-head of global asset allocation at UBS, emphasized that the strong macroeconomic conditions in Asia have led to outperformance in these bonds, particularly those in the tech sector.

He noted that high-yield bonds today offer better quality compared to those from a decade or more ago. Additionally, Zuercher pointed out that gold remains a strong asset for portfolio diversification, especially given the structural weaknesses of the U.S. dollar.

He also mentioned that a broad exposure to commodities could be beneficial, particularly in light of rising oil prices and increased demand for copper driven by the AI boom. This strategy could help mitigate downside risks associated with fluctuating oil prices
