Ford Motor is preparing to release its third-quarter earnings after market close on Wednesday, with analysts expecting adjusted earnings per share of 40 cents and automotive revenue of approximately $46.24 billion.
This would represent a 2% decrease in revenue year-over-year and an 11% drop in adjusted earnings per share compared to the previous year, when the company reported $47.19 billion in automotive revenue and earnings per share of 45 cents.
A significant focus for investors will be the performance of Ford's F-Series pickup trucks, particularly the F-150, which has faced production challenges due to supplier issues. In September, F-150 production fell sharply from over 57,500 units in August to less than 43,000, attributed to a separate supplier problem.
Despite these challenges, Ford has indicated that the disruption is manageable within its existing 2026 adjusted earnings guidance, which projects adjusted earnings before interest and taxes between $10 billion and $11 billion and adjusted free cash flow of $6 billion to $7 billion.
Analysts are closely monitoring how these production issues will influence the third-quarter results and any potential changes in warranty costs
