NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has expressed a desire to increase the number of international games, aiming for up to 16 in the future. The league's Global Markets Program, launched in 2022, allows teams to own marketing rights in specific international markets, fostering brand awareness and fan engagement.
However, challenges remain, such as time zone differences affecting game viewership and potential player fatigue from long travel. Despite these hurdles, the NFL is committed to growing its international footprint, with 62 regular-season games already played outside the U.S.
The success of this strategy will depend on the league's ability to attract and retain a global audience while managing logistical challenges
