Analysts Evercore ISI raised SpaceX (SPCX) target price to $275, expecting 85% upside ahead of earnings report

Space Exploration Technologies, commonly known as SpaceX, is expected to benefit from increased investor confidence following a report from Evercore ISI. The investment firm has upgraded its price target for SpaceX shares from $230 to $275, reflecting an anticipated 85% upside based on Thursday's closing price.

Analyst Kutgun Maral noted that while some skeptics view SpaceX's long-term initiatives as overly ambitious, he believes that tangible proof of the company's capabilities is imminent. SpaceX is set to announce its third-quarter financial results in early November, with analysts forecasting earnings per share of 14 cents on revenue of $12.738 billion.

Maral emphasized that the upcoming earnings report will likely be assessed more for its implications on future growth rather than just the quarterly figures. He highlighted several upcoming 'transformative catalysts,' including satellite deployments using the Starship rocket, which could demonstrate the feasibility of reusability in upcoming flights.

Additionally, Musk's plans for the Starmind AI satellites, targeted for launch in late 2027, are expected to further validate SpaceX's innovative capabilities. Overall, the sentiment among analysts remains positive, with 33 out of 42 covering SpaceX rating it as a buy or strong buy, and the company's shares have already appreciated by approximately 13% over the past three months
