Blue Origin announced its intention to enhance its launch facilities in Florida, with the goal of supporting multiple flights per week by the end of the decade. This expansion includes the addition of two launch and landing pads for its New Glenn rocket and a new customer integration facility in collaboration with the U.S. Space Force.

The $330 million investment is part of a broader strategy to ramp up production capabilities, allowing Blue Origin to manufacture up to 150 upper stages of the New Glenn rocket annually by the summer of 2027.

This move is crucial as Blue Origin seeks to increase its launch cadence and compete with SpaceX, which has recently prioritized its Starship rocket, creating a launch capacity shortage in the industry. The commercial space sector has seen substantial investment, totaling $92.5 billion in the first three quarters of 2026, driven by demand from companies and governments for satellite deployment.

Blue Origin's expansion comes after a setback earlier this year when a New Glenn rocket exploded on the launchpad, but the company is focused on returning to flight by the end of 2026. With over $3 billion invested in Florida and a workforce of more than 5,000 employees, Blue Origin is positioning itself as a key player in the competitive landscape of satellite launches and internet services
