Quantum Systems, an autonomous defense startup, announced a significant $1.2 billion funding round co-led by major firms including Blackstone, Noteus, Airbus, and Advent. This funding comes as part of a broader trend in the defense sector, which has seen record investments totaling $17.4 billion in 2026 alone, surpassing previous years.
The company, which is profitable, aims to utilize the new capital to enhance production capacity, improve supply chain resilience, and advance its software and AI capabilities. Co-CEO Florian Seibel emphasized the transformative potential of autonomous systems in defense, indicating that Quantum Systems is positioned to disrupt traditional military operations.
